On Thursday 6th August, we conducted a panel discussion looking at all the different aspects of diversity.
Chaired by the BBC's Clive Myrie, we had a panel of experts looking at all the various angles of diversity, and how a diverse workforce, fully reflective of society, is not just good for inclusion, but can increase creativity and grow the bottomline.
Panelists included:
Dr Anne Marie Imafidon, co founder of STEMettes, the award-winning social enterprise inspiring the next generation of females into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) roles.
Dave Birss - Works with companies to develop an ideas culture, and the core of his thinking is the need for diverse teams, both traditional - gender, race, sexuality of course - but also neuro, drawing on people's different experiences/approaches.
Dr Sophie Ward - Actor, author and LGBGT campaigner. Sophie is author of a number of books, including A Marriage Proposal: The Importance of Equal Marriage and Love and Other Thought Experiments has been longlisted for the Booker prize.
Sanjeev Bhaskar - Renowned actor and writer, whose passionate about diversity. Sanjeev has a degree in marketing, and was even a graduate recruit at IBM before acting beckoned. He has been the Chancellor of Sussex University for the last 10 years.
Adam Pearson - Presenter, speaker and award-winning disability rights campaigner. He has been a panellist and speaker at the likes of the World Health Innovation Summit, One Young World Summit and British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
The session was hosted on Zoom, with Clive presenting from our recently completed presentation studio in our London offices, with the panelists joining remotely.
