Tom Kerridge is an award winning chef and multiple pub owner with a high TV profile thanks to his numerous appearances on BBC food programmes and his best selling books.
The celebrated chef brings a taste of culinary magic to his restaurants, cookbooks and across tv screens up and down the country. A Gloucestershire lad, Tom champions British food and suppliers and has become a leading name in the hospitality industry.
From humble beginnings, Tom and his wife Beth built The Hand & Flowers into the world’s first and only two Michelin-starred pub. Tom has since launched several more restaurants, penned eleven best-selling cookbooks, launched the hugely successful music and food festival Pub in the Park, and more recently campaigned alongside Marcus Rashford to help end child hunger in the UK with Full Time meals.
Opened in the spring of 2005, The Hand & Flowers pub in Marlow, quickly earned a reputation for outstanding British food and warm hospitality and earned a Michelin star in its first year. Six years later, the pub won a second Michelin-star which it has now held for over 13 years, a world-first and still the only pub in the UK to hold this accolade.
In 2014 Tom opened The Coach on West Street, Marlow, which won a Michelin-star in 2017 and in 2017 he opened The Butcher’s Tap & Grill, an award-winning butcher by day and pub by night.
Tom opened his first London restaurant Kerridge’s Bar & Grill at the Corinthia Hotel in 2018. This was followed in 2021 by, Kerridge’s Fish & Chips launched in Harrods, serving elevated seafood alongside premium British produce in a refined and elegant setting. In December of 2023 Tom opened a further The Butcher’s Tap and Grill dining option this time just off the King’s Road, Chelsea, London.
Tom is a successful author having published 11 highly acclaimed cookbooks, many of which have tied in TV programmes. Tom’s latest book is the long-awaited Pub Kitchen, The Ultimate Modern British Food Bible, published by Bloomsbury in Sept 2023. A feast of recipes that bring elevated pub food into the home kitchen . . . Tom went back to his heartland with over 100 recipes that celebrate modern British cooking.
Tom first came to our TV screens with the popular BBC2 series Proper Pub Food which became an overnight success (peaking at 2.4 million viewers in 2013) with his fan base growing weekly as the six-part series was broadcast. Since then, Tom has appeared on and presented numerous series. Tom’s latest BBC 2 series ‘The Hidden World of Hospitality’ saw Tom lift the lid on the industry he knows and loves - meeting the skilled and passionate professionals taking risks to reach the top of their game.
Tom has appeared for another year as head judge on BBC2’s Great British Menu, which this year celebrated the Olympics and Paralympics.
Tom donates a lot of his time to many charitable causes, including his personal project ‘Meals from Marlow’ where Tom and his team delivered meals to the NHS and vulnerable individuals during the pandemic. The team has prepared over 100,000 meals and the project continues to support the most vulnerable in the local community.
Most recently, Tom has joined forces with Marcus Rashford to launch ‘FULL TIME: Get Cooking with Marcus & Tom’. A nationwide initiative in support of the Healthy Start Scheme and the #EndChildFoodPoverty campaign launched by Marcus in September 2020. Together, their goal is to call ‘Full Time’ on child food poverty.
Tom is a huge sports fan, particularly football with Manchester United and his local team Marlow FC, not forgetting Rugby, a weight training obsessive, Formula 1 fan (with aspirations to race semiprofessionally!)
