Michelle Ackerley is one of the UK's most dynamic and versatile presenters. After earning a degree in Psychology, Michelle began her career at the BBC as a programme maker. Her talent soon led her to the screen, starting with presenting CBBC's Totally Rubbish. She spent several years in children's television before joining BBC1's iconic series, Watchdog.
Since then, Michelle has become a familiar face on several popular BBC shows, including The One Show, Panorama, Watchdog Test House, Council House Crackdown, Fake Britain, and Fraud Squad. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she fronted HealthCheck UK Live for BBC1. Currently, she is a regular host on BBC's Morning Live alongside Gethin Jones and co-hosts Crimewatch Live with Rav Wilding.
Michelle's on-screen charisma and warmth run in the family, as she has had the pleasure of working with her mum, Mavis, on multiple projects. Together, they've presented segments for The One Show and Morning Live and were part of Magic FM's Menopause Month in 2022. The duo also co-hosted Dirty Rotten Scammers for BBC daytime in 2022.
Michelle's other credits include Luxury for Less (Channel 4), Fantasy Homes By The Sea (UKTV), The Wonderful World of Crafting (Channel 5), World's Strongest Man (Channel 5), Lost Dogs: Live (Channel 5), Ukraine: How You Can Help (Channel 5), Greg Wallace: The British Miracle Meat (Channel 4), and the What They Really Mean for You series on BBC. She has also previously hosted ITV's Loose Women. In radio, Michelle regularly presents BBC 5Live's Weekend Breakfast Show, 5Live's Drive Show, and BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live.
Michelle has also hosted several one-off event broadcasts for television, including BBC's Sport Relief, the London 2012 Olympic Torch Roadshow, and BBC D-Day 75 – A Tribute to Heroes. She frequently chairs and hosts events across the entertainment industry.
In addition to her media career, Michelle is an Ambassador for Macmillan Cancer Support and Smart Works charities.
