Formerly serving as one of the Metropolitan Police Service‘s most senior officers, Maxine Hulme rose through the ranks of one of the most highly pressured work environments, and was awarded the QPM for her services to policing.
 
An experienced advisor on transformational change, Maxine led one of the most historically significant change programmes to the structure and delivery of policing across London; driving forward enhanced working practices through augmented technologies, reduction of management and bureaucracy and improved budget management. 
 
Following the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks, she spearheaded the UK‘s largest counter-terrorism exercise a multi-site scenario with key partners, which saw her advising and liaising with the government, to ensure the Prime Minister and Cabinet were fully prepared and equipped to hol COBRA meetings during the 2-day event.
 
As part of the Specialist Crime Directorate, Maxine worked on the Kidnap Unit, as well as the Arts and Antiquities and the Cheque and Credit Card squads. She has also led numerous high-profile and sensitive cases involving the Royal Family, politicians, corporate blackmail and money laundering.
 
Maxine has served as Chair on the National Police Prison Intelligence Board and the Interception and Communications Data Board; a member of both the National Intelligence Board and the Specialist Capability Board as national prisons lead, as well as the Organised Crime/Counter Terrorism Collaboration Board.  Maxine was the London ˜prepare‘ lead for counter terrorism.
 
Since leaving the MET Maxine has been sharing her expertise with audiences in the UK – her main topic is transformational change and her keynote speech is entitled “Change is a Critical Incident”
 
Maxine speaks with the authority of a wealth of experience and has delivered keynote speeches at numerous high profile events e.g. for the NHS, recruitment markets, the government and national policing.
 
Maxine also serves as Chair of the Board of Governors for an Educational Charity Trust in Surrey, moving the Trust from significant loss to surplus.
 
She is a keen horsewoman and has served as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner (Chief Officer Mounted) at the Queen‘s Trooping the Colour.

Most recently from her experience working with organisations during  the Covid pandemic she has developed a supplementary speech with is titled "Transforming Our Work Spaces"  in this session she will help the audience to:

  • Understand the landscape, changing risks and threats.
  • Transform the estate to create new environments fit for purpose in the new world.
  • Harness the good culture to enable working in the new normal environment.
  • Lead transformation and construction programmes during crisis.
  • Clarify on the end state and realising the benefits.

 Audiences will leave with the determination that anything is possible event during a crisis, courage to operate outside of their comfort zone, an understanding of how to approach the transformation journey and inspiration and optimism to make transformation a reality.
