Katie Piper is a charity campaigner, best-selling international author, TV presenter and inspirational speaker.
Watched by over 3.5 million viewers, Katie made the brave decision to share her inspirational story in a ground-breaking film for the Cutting Edge strand on Channel 4 entitled Katie: My Beautiful Face. The film was nominated for Best Single Documentary at the BAFTAA Television Awards in 2010.
The Katie Piper Foundation was set up in 2009 with the aim to help people with scars and burns to reconnect with their communities and lives. An active patron of the charity is Simon Cowell, he remains actively involved to date Katie’s vision for the charity is to build a world in which scars do not limit a person’s function, sense of well-being or social inclusion. Achieving their goal in the summer of 2019 of opening a UK rehabilitation centre to offer survivors the same incredible treatments that Katie received in France shortly after the time of her attack.
Katie has come on leaps and bounds within her career, and as well as her writing and charity commitments, she is also a TV Presenter. Having just announced her recent venture of joining the presenting team for the BBC1’s beloved Songs of Praise which began in September 2020. In addition to this, Katie has a wealth of experience of presenting and participating as a regular contributor to shows such as ITV 1’s Lorraine show.
Never Seen a Doctor on W is one of Katies most recent shows, where she assisted people in overcoming their fears surrounding medical procedures, she also joined ITV 1 again joining the crime and punishment strand participating in a documentary called The Death of Aimee Spencer. Katie worked again with Channel 4’s Famous for Fighting Crime where she trained as a special in the police force.
Among her other credits, some of note include Katie Pipers Face to Face in which she welcomed women with visible differences to London’s Harvey Nichols to receive a makeover from MUA’s also with facial conditions such as theirs. She also completed three series of Body Shockers on Channel 4 in which she encountered people planning body modifications and introduced them to individuals who had already got the procedure done and regretted making that decision.
In addition to her TV work, Katie also hosts a weekly podcast called Katie Pipers Extraordinary People. The podcast gained huge success, and gained diverse sponsors including The Economist, Meatless Farms, Bose and Twining’s with high level guests ranging from George Shelley to Zoella. Katie has spoken internationally to brands such as Google, Facebook and events such as WE day.
A bestselling author, Katie has also written numerous books including 2 biographies Beautiful & Beautiful Ever After as well as a self-help book entitled Things Get Better, an affirmations book Start Your Day With Katie and Confidence: My Secret and finally a book written alongside her mum Things I’d Tell My Child.
Katie is the face of a number of beauty brands including Pantene and L’Oreal, Katie has ventured into launching her own range of products, beginning with the launch of a new fragrance in October 2020.
