John is a presenter and journalist who has been lucky enough to enjoy a front row seat at some of the biggest sporting events in the world.
As a recognised face on the BBC Breakfast sofa he has covered a wide range of stories, interviewing the likes of Sir Andy Murray, Sir Alex Ferguson and Simone Biles.
John started his career in children’s TV working on Newsround, which proved a valuable training ground for being able to think on his feet, before then joining BBC Sport.
In addition to his regular role on the famed red sofa he has worked on other BBC shows such as Match of the Day, Football Focus and Final Score.
His career has taken him across the globe; from Tokyo to cover the Olympics during the Covid pandemic, to Melbourne to witness Novak Djokovic win yet another Grand Slam, and more recently to Germany, spending a month on the road following England’s 2024 Euros campaign. He has sampled first-hand the raucous and gladiatorial atmosphere of Golf’s Ryder Cup and was in Qatar to experience the much-anticipated first World Cup in the Middle East.
John is an excellent host and moderator, his strengths lie in his ability to put people at ease and he is engaging and warm, both in front of and away from the camera.
