George Lewis is a stand-up comedian and writer from Stockport. In the last few years, George has appeared on the BBC New Talent Hotlist, was the winner of Celebrity Mastermind (specialist subject: Oasis), hosted the Britpopcast podcast (Radio X) and Top Gear Extra Gear (BBC Two, Three and Worldwide), and has appeared as a regular on ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show.
A talented comedy writer, George has written for some of the biggest shows on TV and radio, including 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, Hypothetical, BBC Radio 4. George also has a weekly football column in The Times.
Early in his career, he had successes in several new act competitions, he won the prestigious Amused Moose National New Comic Award, as well as Nando’s New Comedian of the Year, The Brighton Squawker Award, the Comedy Cafe New Act Award and the Comedy Knights Fresh Comedian of the year
