Fiona is a regular presenter of the BBC Ten o'clock news, which she has done since 2003, before which she hosted the 6 O' Clock news. She also presents BBC News at the weekends and has co-presented Crimewatch with Nick Ross since Jan 2000. She also presents the Antiques Roadshow which she took over from Michael Aspel in 2008.

For BBC live events she has presented on the Queen Mother's 100th birthday, Prince Edward and Sophie's wedding and the 60th anniversary of the little ships of Dunkirk, as well as the BBC's Cracking Crime Day in 2002. Prior to becoming a presenter, Fiona was a reporter in current affairs for ten years.

She was on Newsnight for two years and also reported on Panorama. Prior to that she reported on current affairs programmes such as Public Eye and First Sight where she won an award from CNN for best health story. She was also a reporter for Breakfast News. She began her BBC career at Panorama as a researcher and then assistant producer. In those ten years she reported from all around the world including Kurdistan, the United States, the Middle East and mainland Europe.

Before her career in journalism, Fiona worked in advertising and management consultancy. She has an MA from Oxford University in French and Italian.
